Life in UK
Today had ‘tesco’ lunch again. Tesco is a famous big super market, like Carrefour, where everyone goes to during lunch time.
Seems like that is the only available, economic and convenient place to buy lunch.
i bought a seafood sandwich, a tray of cheese potatoes and a large sausage.
Think i’m eating too much nowadays. You all wont despise chubby Wei Wei right?
PizzaSunday night, i had Chevre Grill and a spicy pepperoni watever watever pizza.
Chevre Grill: Grilled goats’ cheese, topped with balsamic caramelised onions, on beef tomato and ciabatta bread.
Something new for me.
The cheese was abit heavy for me, but overall, its an interesting starter to begin with.
Last friday, the ang mohs brought me to a restaurant for lunch.
This restaurant sits on a hill in Dorset, where you can oversee a field of meadows and the Corfe castle. Cows, horses, green grass, blue sky, and a lovely weather.
The view was awesome, but the castle was too far away.
So Ron drove me to the village where i can take close up pictures of the castle.
Castle leh, where to find castle in Singapore? So i was pretty excited.
The village is made up of grey stone cottages, just like those described in fairy tales.
Then i went past a shop that has a board with Enid Blyton written on it, oh yah, i remembered.
Just like those houses printed on Enid Blyton’s book covers.
Did a search on the internet. Corfe Castle is actually the inspiration for ‘Kirrin Castle’ in some of Enid Blyton’s stories. Hmm.. Interesting.
A little history on the castle: Corfe Castle stand on a natural hill guarding the principal route through the Purbeck Hills.
It guards the gap between the south of Purbeck, where Purbeck marble was once quarried, and the rest of England.
Nothing could pass in or out without going past the Castle.
Castle_1The very first castle buildings was built up of wood, in the latter half of the 11th Century, the Castle was rebuilt in stone by William the Conqueror.
Presently, only the ruins of the Castle remains.
